She found that Business was her major once she discovered how interlinked it is with internationality. Even in her early life, Emilia has been interested in especially working using different languages, and with different people. Logistics was a part of the studies in business administration and that especially, as it combines all the reasons, she chose her major, felt like just the thing for her.
Early career and entry into Auramarine
While she has worked most of her career at Auramarine, she also has previously worked in the similar field of work: in the business sector. First she worked as a salesperson, and then as a procurement secretary in the healthcare sector. Working with people is an important part of Emilia’s career. At Auramarine, Emilia has carried many titles. After moving back home after spending 3 years in England, Emilia joined Auramarine originally from a temporary position in Logistics. As a Logistics Coordinator, she was in charge of sending orders. In the position, she also planned the route of the order, and kept track of the import and export responsibilities.
From a temporary role to Team Leader: A career that evolved naturally
Once the purchase, logistics and the warehouse teams were merged, Emilia began as the Team Leader. After this she became the Manager to Logistics and the Warehouse. In this role, she discusses export prices, stays on top of any changes in importing and exporting laws, leading the logistics team and ensuring know-how among them. Due to her long-standing experience in the field, Emilia is able to relate and understand her team. This makes her an excellent manager to the team. When asked about the changes in titles, Emilia remarked that they have happened very naturally in her career so far.
Why Auramarine feels like the right place to grow
Emilia finds Auramarine to be a flexible place to work. Surrounded by nice and encouraging coworkers, it is even greater to work a career that is already interesting as it is. In terms of logistics, Emilia has found that despite being a small company, Auramarine is still able to provide an environment that fosters learning, as there are many things to learn and a wide range of tasks to take on. A big part of the working environment at Auramarine is also the support and encouragement that comes from colleagues especially when it comes to learning, says Emilia. When others are keen to learn and develop in their career, it inspires a person to do the same. There are also opportunities to take part in external courses, in order to strengthen one’s skills in their career.
Motivation through variety, challenge, and purpose
Emilia describes her journey at Auramarine as an interesting one. Having spent 11 years at the company, she has gotten to develop and grow in her career, taking care of and gaining many new responsibilities in her time here. Despite Auramarine being small and this occasionally posing a limitation as there are less job availabilities, Emilia still thinks that there is a broad range of tasks involved in everyday work. She stated that this is what makes working more varied and a challenge that is rewarding once overcome. She has also gotten to see and be a part of the growth of Auramarine, seeing first hand, how the Auramarine products have also developed over the years. Emilia remarked that 'It is also nice to see the development happening in a sustainable direction, as Auramarine is developing solutions for fuels that are less damaging to the planet'.
