Roope Ristimäki – logistics coordinator trainee
Tell us briefly about yourself
“I am Roope, 22-year-old second year student from Turku. I study in Turku University of Applied Sciences and I am majoring business operations management. I have a lot of friends in exchange students and thus international activities. On my free time I play with my dog and go jogging. Right now, I follow intensively football from TV.”
What brought you to work at Auramarine this summer?
“Auramarine’s summer job announcement catched my eye from Duunitori. Company’s reputation was good and the possibility to get my internship done attracted me to apply. My own target was to find a summer job related to my future profession and reached it here at Auramarine. The application process itself was nice. I sent a cover letter and a resume added with short video, which was a bit out of my comfort zone. Later I received nice feedback about the video and interview was a pleasant experience overall.”
What is your role in Auramarine?
“I am logistics coordinator trainee. The job consists of handling the delivery documentation and replying to customers’ emails and questions. Ie. logistics customer service. Customers’ questions are mainly related to updates concerning delivery statuses and export documentation.”
What is the main learning so far concerning the work you are doing?
“After a few weeks I learnt to use ERP more systematically and now I know where to find materials and answers. Most things go on autopilot already. Before I started, I was a bit worried about how I could manage to work 8 hours a day sitting at a computer. I had used to more physical work in production before. Luckily there’s so many different things ongoing every day that good flow stays even at your computer.”
What is the best experience concerning the work so far?
“Last week we discussed already about the possible continuation of my employment in autumn. I have had a great opportunity to work remotely even as an intern. This I have not experienced before.”
Which Auramarine value resonates most with you and please elaborate a bit
“From a personal point of view, I would say innovativeness. From a work point of view, I would like to raise caring & courage as it is vital for customer relationship management. Caring & courage also internally – logistics team is great.”
Is there anything you would like to share for next year summer trainees?
“In the application process, creating a video from yourself might seem challenging task, but don’t leave the application process because of it! Working environment is nice at Auramarine and people at the office are working with smile.”

Einar Olson – R&D trainee
Tell us briefly about yourself
“I am Einar, I study my fifth and last year at Chemical Engineering at Åbo Akademi University and I am majoring in Process- and Systems Engineering. Just to elaborate a bit of my subject I could say as an example that if you are working on a bakery and you bake a cake – you can either focus on putting your efforts on finding the best raw materials or you can focus on trying to find most efficient tools & equipment for baking. I focus on optimizing the baking process. That’s what I do in my degree. In my free time I go windsurfing, play football and floorball during the summer. Later in August I’ll be cycling to Lithuania, where I’ll be taking part in a summer school in Klaipeda to explore the environment and take tests from the Baltic Sea. This project is part of the Baltic University Program.”
